LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 14-year-old boy died Wednesday after police said he accidentally shot himself inside a home in Louisville’s California neighborhood.
Louisville Metro Police reported that officers were called around 2:30 p.m. to the 1800 block of Greenwood Avenue, located just west of Dixie Highway.
Police said the boy was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to UofL Hospital downtown, where he later died.
Investigators determined at the scene that the boy’s death resulted from an accidental self-inflicted shooting.
