LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — Demolition crews have begun tearing down the Givaudan plant in the Clifton neighborhood, more than a year after a deadly explosion at the site.
The blast in November 2024 killed two workers and injured 11 others.
According to the Clifton Community Council, demolition is expected to take about 40 days. Records indicate the explosion was caused by a failed vent on a cooking vessel that contained caramel coloring.
Crews will work Monday through Thursday, with some weekend activity possible depending on weather conditions.
