The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking into a suspicious death after a body was discovered near a local business.
At 10:17 a.m. on Monday, deputies rushed to 1409 Marks Church Road to investigate the finding of a deceased person.
Deputies said a body was discovered behind Chuck E. Cheese at 3435 Wrightsboro Road.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office and Sheriff’s Office investigated.
Coroner Mark Bowen said the body was discovered in a forested area behind the business, which seemed to be a homeless camp.
The autopsy has been scheduled.
The deceased’s name will be disclosed once a positive identification is made and the next of kin is notified.
