School leaders cut the ribbon Friday on major renovations and new construction at Atherton High School.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The $54 million project, announced in February 2024, features a new three-story classroom building at the center of the campus, addressing long-standing space shortages.
“We have made do with the space that we’ve had for a very long time,” Principal Stephanie Fluhr said. “Teachers have instructed in hallways, behind the auditorium, in libraries, and shared classrooms for years, and our students have persevered through all of it.”
In addition to the new classroom addition, the project included upgrades to the school’s HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
