Southern Baptist Seminary goes on emergency lockdown in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Boyce College were placed on an emergency lockdown Friday after campus police received a reported threat.

The university confirmed that an anonymous caller contacted the seminary with a threat to harm the campus community. In response, Southern Seminary’s Campus Police notified Louisville Metro Police and immediately placed the campus on lockdown.

LMPD and campus police investigated the potential threat on site. After completing their response, authorities lifted the lockdown.

According to the seminary, the lockdown lasted approximately two hours.
