CLARK COUNTY, Ind. —
An Indiana judge has approved a settlement requiring Jamey Noel and his family to repay millions of dollars they stole while he served as Clark County sheriff.

Noel was convicted in 2024 of stealing millions in taxpayer funds for himself and his family. As part of a plea deal, he received a 12-year prison sentence.

His estranged wife, Misty, and daughter, Kasey, also accepted plea deals in the case. Both pleaded guilty to theft and tax evasion.

Following their sentencings, a judge ordered the Noel family to pay more than $3 million in restitution.

As of August 2025, about $2.3 million was held in escrow after the sale of the Noels’ assets at auction. The assets included homes, vehicles, firearms, clothing, and other items.

On Dec. 31, a judge approved a settlement agreement authorizing the release of those funds.

Under the agreement, Utica Township Fire Protection will receive $650,000, while the Office of the Attorney General will receive $289,681.

Those are the only revised payments included in the settlement agreement addendum. All other financial obligations from the original mediation agreement remain in effect, according to the Dec. 31 filing.

As a result, the remaining funds will be directed to New Chapel EMS. Court documents state that Jamey Noel charged more than $2.1 million to New Chapel’s credit cards.
