Fourteen arrests were made Tuesday as part of a concerted effort to increase public safety in Northeast Portland and along the city’s public transportation corridors.
On October 6, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office led a multi-agency mission at the MAX light rail station at the junction of East Burnside Street and East 122nd Avenue, with TriMet Transit Police providing support.
During the four-hour mission, police made 14 arrests, issued 19 code violations, and performed five traffic stops, according to a sheriff’s office press release. One individual was also barred from entering TriMet premises, and four people were arrested on fentanyl and methamphetamine supply charges.
Authorities did not explain why the other ten people were arrested.
The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office leads the TriMet Transit Police, which consists of officers and deputies from various law enforcement organizations. They investigate offenses on TriMet property in Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington counties.
