Man reported missing from Twin Cities is discovered dead in South Dakota

A man reported missing from the Twin Cities earlier this week has been discovered dead in South Dakota.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension confirmed that a body discovered near Mitchell, South Dakota, belonged to Matthew Timmons, 32.

Timmons was reported missing from Columbia Heights on Tuesday, with a public appeal launched to find him after he was last seen on May 27. According to the BCA statement, the body discovered in Mitchell was conclusively identified as Timmons on Wednesday.

The initial alert says Timmons left his home driving a 2005 Ford Explorer and was last known to be driving near Dundas in southeastern Minnesota.

There is currently no information available on Timmons’ cause of death.
