A Massachusetts man has his priorities in order after winning big on a state lottery scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Manuel Gilmete of Taunton is the first $1 million prize winner in the new “Strike It Rich” $10 instant ticket game, which went on sale on Tuesday, May 12.
Gilmete chose the cash option for his reward, receiving a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He stated that he intends to use the cash to restore his home and provide for his family.
He bought his winning ticket at Grab ‘N’ Go, 443 Crescent St., Brockton. The retailer receives a $10,000 bonus for selling this ticket.
The “Strike It Rich” instant ticket comes with five additional $1 million instant rewards.
