EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – As the war in Iran continues, gas prices keep climbing.
We spotted one Shell station in Evansville charging $4.49 per gallon of regular unleaded on Monday.
According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of gas now stands at $4.12—the highest level in four years.
AAA also provides state maps, showing that Posey and Spencer counties currently have the highest average gas prices among Indiana counties.
Illinois now ranks eighth highest in the nation, with an average of $4.29. Prices average $4.13 in Wayne and Wabash counties.
As of Monday, Kentucky and Indiana rank 28th and 29th highest in the country.
Hancock County records the highest average in Kentucky, at $3.90.
