HENDERSON, Ky. — With the National Weather Service forecasting possible winter weather across western Kentucky this weekend, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is preparing state highways in advance.

Starting January 20, snow and ice crews will begin applying a salt brine mixture to roadways around lunchtime. Treatment will start with C-Routes and progress to primary A-Routes by the end of the week.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution when crews are on the roads, as vehicles will be moving slowly during the pretreatment process.
