NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man wanted in connection with the rape of a teenage girl on New Year’s Eve has been arrested in Louisville, Kentucky, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police said 31-year-old Mena Awad was taken into custody Friday afternoon at a Louisville hotel. Awad is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl inside her Millwood Drive apartment in Nashville on Dec. 31, 2025.

Investigators allege Awad entered the teen’s unlocked apartment around 7 a.m. and assaulted her in her bedroom. The victim told police she did not know Awad and reported that he was armed with a gun and a knife during the attack.

Awad had been placed on MNPD’s “Most Wanted” fugitives list earlier this week. Authorities said arrangements are being made to return him to Nashville.
