VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two people have been charged in connection with multiple alleged ATM thefts in Vigo County, Indiana.
The Terre Haute Police Department said officers responded to several attempted and completed ATM thefts in late November 2025. One of the incidents resulted in an estimated loss of about $40,000.
Working alongside the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, investigators reviewed ATM surveillance footage and used Flock Safety license plate recognition technology, officials said.
According to police, the suspect vehicle was tracked traveling across the country, from Colorado to New Jersey, as the suspects allegedly carried out similar crimes in other cities. Once the vehicle was entered into the Flock system, law enforcement agencies in multiple states were alerted as the suspects continued their alleged offenses.
Anderson Alexander Duarte Perez, 25, of New Albany, was arrested in Clark County, Indiana, and charged with multiple felony offenses, including safe cracking and theft.
A second suspect, Flor Del Carmen Marquez Marquez, 30, also of New Albany, was later located and taken into custody in South Carolina. She was served with warrants from Vigo County and several other agencies.
“This case highlights how technology, combined with strong interagency partnerships, helps law enforcement disrupt organized criminal activity,” THPD said in a social media post. “We thank the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office, Union Township Police Department (Ohio), Jeffersonville Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, and our law enforcement partners nationwide for their assistance.
