One person dead after being struck by vehicle in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — A woman was struck and killed Tuesday morning near Fern Creek after being involved in a minor traffic crash, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Police said officers were called around 7:30 a.m. to the intersection of Bardstown Road and Watterson Trail after a collision initially reported as non-injury.

When officers arrived, they discovered that the female driver from the first crash had exited her vehicle and was struck by another passing vehicle.

The woman was taken by ambulance from the scene but later died at a hospital. Her name has not been released pending family notification.

Police said no criminal charges are expected in connection with the incident. The Louisville Metro Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
