KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — Windy conditions left thousands of Kentuckians without power, cutting off heat as temperatures dropped on Friday.

More than 9,000 customers across Kentucky lost power. By 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 19, outages had decreased to 3,543. Letcher County reported 685 outages, while Pike County recorded 1,109.

If you experience a power outage, do not call 911 unless the situation is life-threatening. Instead, contact your local utility provider.

Kentucky Utilities (KU) customers should call (800) 981-0600 to report outages and stay away from downed lines. Customers can also report and track outages using the mobile app or by visiting lge-ku.com/storm.
