Family Identifies Victim in Algonquin Neighborhood Shooting

A man has died following a shooting in Louisville’s Algonquin neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — Family members have identified the victim as 25-year-old Kalend Hinkle, who was killed in a shooting on Saturday, Dec. 13.

The shooting happened in the 1500 block of South 10th Street. Police were called to the scene shortly after 3 p.m.

Officers found Hinkle in the backseat of a car, where he had been shot multiple times. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released any suspect information at this time.

The family told WAVE News they have received Hinkle’s body and are currently making funeral arrangements.
