Officials said the fire started after a stove was accidentally left on.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A large fire damaged three homes in Louisville’s Victory Park neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
According to a news release from the Louisville Fire Department, crews were called to a two-story home in the 2200 block of Hale Avenue around 3:30 a.m. The location is off South 22nd Street near West Oak Street.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames coming from the home, with the fire spreading to two neighboring houses. A total of 58 firefighters worked for about 31 minutes before bringing the fire under control.
Two residents inside the home where the fire began managed to escape with minor injuries and were treated at the scene, officials said. The American Red Cross is assisting families who were displaced by the fire.
Louisville Metro Arson investigators determined the fire was caused by a stove that had been left on accidentally.
