KENTUCKY — A routine traffic stop in Pulaski County led to the arrest of three Somerset residents after detectives discovered methamphetamine, prescription pills, and other drugs inside their vehicle.

According to authorities, officers pulled over a car on Highway 461 on October 27 after it was seen speeding and repeatedly crossing the center line.

The driver, 48-year-old David Pyles, along with passengers Autumn Parrett and Joshua Barnett, raised further suspicion when Pyles revved the engine and one passenger in the back seat moved erratically.

All three were ordered out of the vehicle. A K-9 unit then performed an air sniff and alerted to the presence of narcotics.

During the search, detectives seized 225.9 grams of methamphetamine, a bag containing four Gabapentin tablets and one Xanax pill, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Pyles was charged with speeding, trafficking in a controlled substance (first-degree, second offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to maintain required insurance.

Parrett faces charges of first-degree trafficking, drug paraphernalia possession, and marijuana possession, while Barnett was charged with first-degree trafficking, possession of controlled substances (first- and third-degree), and drug paraphernalia.

All three suspects remain in custody as investigators continue their case.
