A mother has been arrested following the death of a child on the east side.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that officers from the Southeast District were summoned to a residence on Bancroft Street at 7 a.m. Wednesday. That’s near English and Emerson Avenues.
Police came to discover an 8-year-old child unresponsive. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Miracle Bryan was recognized on Thursday by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
While the circumstances surrounding the girl’s murder are still being investigated, authorities arrested Karrie Bryan, 43, in connection with her death.
According to the police report, Bryan is the victim’s “parent/guardian.”
Bryan was arrested on a preliminary accusation of negligence for a dependent.
