A woman was detained after police said she drove away with a $15,000 Rolex watch that another woman had stolen from a man’s wrist inside his apartment.
Police detained Ayzha Flenoury, 42, on Monday, nearly two months after the suspected crime.
According to the arrest report, the victim met two women at Casa Neos on July 17 and invited them to his flat.
Police claimed the women arrived at the condominium around 3 a.m. While inside, one of the women removed a Rolex from the victim’s wrist without his permission and brought it to Flenoury, according to authorities.
The victim discovered his watch had been stolen and confronted the women, but police say they grew violent and departed the residence separately.
According to detectives, the victim pursued the woman who owned the watch and continuously asked that it be returned.
Police stated she entered a silver Honda and drove away with the Rolex.
Detectives discovered security video from the area and identified Flenoury throughout their inquiry.
Investigators retrieved security video from the rental company, which they claimed showed her returning the vehicle shortly after leaving the victim’s apartment while wearing the same attire seen in surveillance film from the event.
The victim eventually presented detectives with evidence of purchase, indicating that the Rolex was worth around $15,000.
According to police, Flenoury was escorted to Miami Police Headquarters for an interview on Monday. According to the arrest report, when shown video of the incident, she denied removing the watch.
Flenoury was arrested and charged with burglary to an occupied house and third-degree grand theft.
During bond court, the judge determined probable cause and placed her bond at $7,500 with a Nebbia condition.
The arrest report does not say whether the other woman was recognized or arrested.
