Attorney General Lynn Fitch (R-Miss.) announced that a woman was sentenced to one count of wire fraud.
Authorities allege that Katricia Smith, the former owner of KLS Medical Services, LLC in DeSoto County, willfully submitted false claims for Medicaid services she did not perform between 2023 and 2024.
On September 8, 2026, a Madison County judge sentenced Smith to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) prison. She was sentenced to pay full restitution of $3,190,017.93 to the Mississippi Division of Medicaid.
