A traffic stop for equipment violations led to the arrest of a Flint man wanted on multiple warrants after he ran from troopers on Friday, according to Michigan State Police.
Troopers from the Flint Post pulled over a car near the 4300 block of Corunna Road in Flint Township at 10:20 a.m. on September 4 for multiple equipment violations and no insurance. The driver, a 32-year-old Flint man, had many arrest warrants.
When troopers approached him, the man fled. He was apprehended following a brief foot pursuit and the use of a taser, according to police.
While making the arrest, troopers discovered suspected cocaine and an illegal handgun with no serial number.
The man was arrested on warrants, resisting and obstructing arrest, and other criminal gun offenses. Police say he was examined and discharged from a local hospital for minor injuries before being booked into Genesee County Jail.
