A 23-year-old man from Missouri was detained on Monday in connection with a home invasion in Topeka.
According to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home burglary in the 7100 block of Southwest 61st Street about 5:26 a.m. on Monday.
Officials claimed the homeowners were awakened when an unknown male suspect broke into their home.
The suspect fled the scene on foot, leaving his vehicle in the driveway.
Deputies discovered the suspect nearby and arrested him.
Quynton R. Slayden, 23, of Missouri, was booked into Shawnee County Jail for:
- Aggravated burglary
- Theft
- Criminal damage to property
The incident is still being investigated.
