A Mississippi man is facing attempted murder and arson charges after reportedly setting fire to a home and throwing gasoline on a victim over the weekend.
Kemper County deputies responded to a structure fire in the 1000 block of Tamola Road around 5:48 a.m. Today is Saturday, August 22. Investigators believe Kendrick Keontae James entered the home with a container of gasoline and doused the interior.
A verbal argument ensued, during which James allegedly lit the gasoline inside the house, flung it on the victim, and threatened to kill him.
Authorities arrested James and accused him of attempted murder and arson.
During his initial court appearance on Monday, August 24, a judge from the Kemper County Justice Court imposed a bond of $500,000 for each count against James, totaling $1,000,000. He is still in custody.
