Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies took into custody two people on Sunday after a narcotics investigation revealed an active drug operation inside a Tampa warehouse, which also housed three young children.
On August 9, 2026, deputies executed a search warrant at a warehouse in the 13000 block of North Nebraska Avenue. Joshua Reed-Acton, 24, and Amanda Martinez, 26, were arrested as they attempted to escape the building after deputies arrived.
Investigators seized numerous narcotics and drug paraphernalia during their search of the property. Officials also discovered three children, ages five, three, and one, inside the warehouse with the illegal substances.
Reed-Acton and Martinez are both charged with three counts of child neglect, maintaining a public nuisance structure for drug activity, possessing drug paraphernalia, trafficking cocaine between 28 and 200 grams, trafficking cannabis between 25 and 2,000 pounds, and four counts of possessing a controlled substance with intent to sell or deliver.
In addition to those charges, Reed-Acton was accused of delivering a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a convenience shop.
“These two suspects didn’t just choose to deal drugs; they chose to do it in a place where three young children were exposed to the dangers of narcotics and criminal activity,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. “Putting children in danger is completely unacceptable. Our deputies will continue to aggressively seek those who profit from illegal drugs, and if children are harmed in the process, we will hold individuals accountable.”
