5-year-old pronounced deceased after being struck by concrete pole chain

A 5-year-old child has died in a traffic incident.

According to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office, the event occurred on the 1700 block of Gordon Highway on Friday, July 31st, at 7:47 p.m.

According to the Coroner’s Office, Ulyssia Thomas, a 5-year-old scooter passenger, was struck by a chain connected to two concrete poles.

According to authorities, Thomas was transferred to WellStar/MCG by EMS and died of her injuries on Wednesday, August 5th at 1:06 p.m.
