A man was apprehended after striking his girlfriend with a vehicle in Central Florida.
Deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office charged 28-year-old Levi Stevenson with attempted murder after he hit his girlfriend with a vehicle. Deputies rushed to East 138th Avenue in Tampa after a lady was struck by a car and sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives discovered that Stevenson and the victim got into a fight, and when she tried to contact help, he forcibly stole her phone.
According to local police, Stevenson veered off East 138th Avenue, struck the man with his vehicle, and then fled the scene.
“A fit of rage should never result in a fatal outcome.” This victim demonstrated incredible courage by fleeing a dangerous situation, only to be met with unimaginable violence,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the determination of our detectives, this individual is now in custody and will face the consequences of his actions.”
Stevenson was arrested and charged with attempted murder in the second degree and robbery by sudden snatching.
