Two people have been taken into custody after an armed robbery investigation in Dorchester.
Around 3:59 p.m. Thursday, Boston police responded to an allegation of an armed robbery near 140 Humboldt Ave.
When authorities arrived, they spoke with the victim, who reported that she had been robbed at knifepoint by two males on a blue moped.
According to the victim, she was walking in the vicinity when the passenger got off the moped and approached her. She claimed she collapsed to the ground as the suspect approached her, armed with a knife. The man allegedly snatched her chain and wallet before returning to the moped and fleeing down Humboldt Avenue towards Seaver Street.
An inquiry led authorities to 777 Tremont St., where detectives discovered the blue moped around 4:46 p.m. Both suspects were seen arriving at the scene. Detectives then witnessed the driver enter a building while the passenger fled the area on the moped.
The driver, identified as 24-year-old Deivi Yoander Sanchez Aguasvivas, was taken into prison.
The second suspect, 26-year-old Luis Miguel Ramirez-Aguasvivas, was reportedly observed leaving the scene and walking to Barry Street in Dorchester. At around 2:36 p.m. Friday, authorities spotted the blue scooter and took Ramirez-Aguasvivas into custody inside a property on Barry Street.
Both males are likely to be tried in Roxbury District Court on counts of armed robbery and assault by use of a dangerous weapon.
Police said Ramirez-Aguasvivas was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Suffolk Superior Court charging him with two counts of assault with intent to rob, two counts of assault and battery, five counts of unarmed robbery, assault with intent to rob, assault and battery on an elderly or disabled victim, and unarmed robbery.
