An Indiana woman was accused of stabbing her father to death before removing his heart.
Court documents obtained by WGN and WTHR show that Gregory Dolnics’ relatives contacted authorities to request a welfare check. While on the phone with 911, the family reported receiving messages and phone calls from Gregory’s daughter’s friend, 32-year-old Serena Dolnics.
The friend informed the family that Serena stabbed Gregory at his home and was covered in blood when she attempted to enter the residence but was shut out.
According to court filings, first responders entered the property from the rear and promptly located Gregory’s death. Police discovered Serena was trapped in a bedroom in the house and called the SWAT squad, who caught her shortly after.
According to police, Gregory’s heart was cut out and placed on his chest, and he had stab wounds in his head, hands, and arms. According to officials, investigators discovered three bloodied knives in the home.
Serena told investigators that she got along well with her father, but they did have brief disagreements that were swiftly addressed, according to court filings.
Serena was charged with murder and is currently being jailed without bond.
