The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a Missouri man following an undercover investigation targeting people they say were seeking to exploit children.
According to the report, on May 30, Philip A. Klonowski called a law enforcement decoy masquerading as a 14-year-old girl. Klonowski initially contacted the decoy via the HUSH messaging app before shifting the conversation to Snapchat. He validated the decoy’s declared age of 14 before proceeding.
According to investigators, Klonowski regularly requested images and recordings, including requests involving the child’s clothing. He also engaged in sexually explicit talk and disclosed his sexual preferences. The inquiry also revealed that he made contact with another undercover decoy, acting as a 15-year-old pregnant girl, and asked for images and further correspondence.
Klonowski was arrested on June 29 with the assistance of the Joplin Police Department. He faced charges of using technology to engage in sexual conversation with a minor. The sheriff’s office said that further charges may be considered as the investigation proceeds. Klonowski waived extradition and was arrested by Wagoner County investigators on July 3. He was subsequently transported and put into Wagoner County Detention Center.
