A homicide investigation is underway after a man was discovered fatally shot inside an SUV outside a hospital in Los Angeles’ Westlake neighborhood early Saturday morning.
On July 12, 2026, at about 4:00 a.m., police from the Los Angeles Police Department arrived at the area of 6th Street and Witmer Street, where they discovered a man with deadly gunshot wounds inside a black Dodge Durango parked outside a local hospital.
The victim was pronounced dead at the spot.
Just 20 minutes earlier, a woman with a gunshot wound arrived at California Hospital Medical Center in critical condition following a shooting near the intersection of 7th Street and Burlington Avenue, just a few streets away.
Investigators are investigating to discover whether the two incidents are related, but authorities have yet to confirm a link.
Detectives from the LAPD Rampart Division remained on the scene to gather evidence while the investigation progressed.
No suspect information has been released.
