Lincoln County police enforcement just stated that two people are facing charges in connection with a shooting that occurred last week, including attempted homicide for one of them.
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers responded to a shots fired complaint along 2nd Avenue on Monday, July 6, and discovered shell casings and “evidence of gunfire impacting an occupied vehicle.”
Following a thorough investigation, the person accused of shooting the gun was identified and charged with four counts of attempted criminal homicide in connection with the event, according to an FPD Facebook post from Saturday, July 11. In addition, a second person was allegedly accused of assault.
According to authorities, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office aided with the investigation.
“We commend the swift actions of our officers and detectives and the cooperation of the community in bringing this matter to light,” the police department said. “As always, we encourage residents to remain aware and report any suspicious activity to ensure the safety of our neighborhoods.”
There has been no other information disclosed concerning the shooting, including the identity of those charged.
