Pennsylvania State Police announced firearm denial statistics for the second quarter of 2026, which included 18 people apprehended at the point of purchase.
According to state police, 18 people who attempted to purchase a firearm were discovered to have active warrants, which led to their detention. Another 3,833 people were denied firearm purchases, with 905 of them reported to state police, municipal law enforcement, or the ATF.

When a person attempts to provide fraudulent information during the Pennsylvania Instant Check System procedure, an investigation is initiated, and the referral is forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
According to Pennsylvania law, making false representations on any federal or state agency form or providing fake identity with the intent to defraud the seller, licensed dealer, or licensed producer is a third-degree crime.
