Man taken into custody in Omaha after woman pushed from vehicle near Valley

A man was taken into custody in Omaha on Thursday morning for allegedly assaulting a woman outside of Valley last week.

Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph McNeal, 43, near 38th Avenue and Dodge Street on Thursday morning. He is accused of false incarceration and terroristic threats.

Investigators say he struck a woman on Tuesday, June 30, around 278th Street and Pawnee Road, north of Valley, after she got into McNeal’s automobile near 37th and Jones streets in Omaha.

“The victim alleged that the suspect struck her multiple times while he drove his vehicle, causing significant injuries, before pushing her from his vehicle near Valley and leaving her on a dirt road,” the DCSO statement adds.

The Douglas County Attorney’s Office issued a warrant for McNeal on Wednesday, according to the announcement. He was brought into custody without incident after a traffic check at 9 a.m. Thursday and lodged in the Douglas County Correctional Facility.
