A woman was taken into custody in a recent stabbing in Tampa.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing report at an apartment complex in the 7700 block of Rivergate Drive. Before 4:30 a.m., HCSO deputies detained the suspect in connection with a stabbing in Tampa.
When deputies arrived, they discovered an adult woman who had been stabbed at least once. She was sent to a neighboring hospital for treatment.
The inquiry indicated that following an altercation between the two groups, Anijah Green, 24, stabbed the 21-year-old victim. Detectives secured an arrest warrant and took Green into jail.
Green was charged with aggravated battery, great bodily harm, and deadly weapon, as well as attempted murder in the second degree with a weapon.
“This violent act left a young woman seriously injured and put multiple lives at risk,” stated Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the rapid efforts of our deputies and investigators, the suspect was identified and apprehended. Violence like this has no place in our community, and we will keep trying to hold those guilty completely accountable.”
