A man from Silver Spring has been detained and charged in connection with a series of burglaries at a Montgomery County facility in downtown Silver Spring, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.
According to police, Ademu Cummings, 58, is accused of repeatedly accessing the Montgomery County Garage facilities office in the 1200 block of Spring Street overnight between May 23 and May 26, 2026. Detectives identified Cummings using surveillance video and secured an arrest warrant charging him with burglary and other crimes.
On June 9, officers spotted Cummings in the 800 block of Roeder Road. When cops attempted to arrest him, he reportedly leaped from a rooftop. He was later apprehended in the 8700 block of Colesville Road and detained without incident. Following medical care for injuries incurred in the fall, Cummings was transferred to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was issued with the arrest warrant.
Police have not published a photo of the suspect.
