Bowling Green police apprehended a man for domestic violence after he allegedly struck a woman in the head with a shovel.
Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Poe Road at 2 p.m. on Wednesday (July 1). David Buser, 67, of Bowling Green, owns the residence and allows two individuals to live there. He informed authorities that in May, he posted a note on the house stating that the residents had to leave by July 1. Buser said his lawyer advised him that leaving the note was all that was required to evict the occupants.
On Wednesday, Buser went to change the locks on the door. While he was working on it, the residents came at the house, and the woman pried out a window with a shovel.
Buser said police he “got into a tussle” with the woman over the shovel and hit her in the head with it.
The woman was examined by the Bowling Green Fire Division but refused to go to the hospital.
Buser was instructed that in order to legitimately evict residents, he needed to file in Wood County Common Pleas Court. He was brought to the Wood County Jail.
