A Richland County man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for drug conspiracy.
The FBI obtained evidence indicating that 41-year-old David Omar Echevarria was receiving cocaine shipments from Puerto Rico to North and South Carolina.
Authorities believe that once the packages were received, Echevarria distributed various amounts of cocaine to local dealers.
During their investigation, the FBI purchased cocaine many times from Echevarria. The FBI estimates that he distributed more than 5 kg of cocaine.
His ten-year prison sentence will be followed by five years of court-mandated supervision.
