A man wanted by the ATF was arrested on Monday.
The ATF stated that Isaiah Chancellor, who had a federal warrant for several drug counts as part of Operation Fly City, was detained in Brookville on Monday afternoon.
Brookville Police Major Tom Simon told News Center 7 that the agency had received information that a wanted suspect was inside Green Tokai, an auto parts company on Robert Wright Drive.
Because of the scale of the facility and the gravity of Chancellor’s warrant, Brookville police began working with nearby law enforcement organizations.
“While officers were monitoring the suspect through the business’s security camera system, the suspect appeared to receive a phone call and subsequently left the area where he had been observed,” Simon stated.
Officers started searching the building for Chancellor. During the search, they were told that he might be armed and in a room within the business.
Officers began evacuating the building out of extreme caution.
Chancellor exited the building during the evacuation and was detained.
It was eventually revealed that Chancellor was unarmed when inside the building.
Following his arrest, Chancellor was moved to federal jail, where he is currently awaiting further legal processes, according to the ATF.
“This arrest represents another step in the ongoing effort to identify, investigate, and prosecute individuals responsible for violent crime and firearmsrelated offenses in the Dayton area,” the ATF said in a statement.
