11 guns and ammunition, drugs discovered in car after traffic stop in Cleveland

Police officers discovered many firearms and marijuana in a vehicle following a traffic stop on the city’s east side.

On June 18, the driver was pulled over near E. 83rd Street and Carnegie Avenue for having expired plates.

Officers said they determined that the driver, a 23-year-old man, did not have a valid driver’s license.

The driver informed authorities that he was in possession of a firearm.

Officers said they recovered the below items during a search of the car:

  • One loaded rifle
  • One loaded 9mm handgun
  • Approximately 123 rounds of .300 Blackout ammunition
  • Approximately 36 rounds of 9mm ammunition
  • Four rifle magazines
  • Five 9mm Glock magazines
  • Two digital scales with narcotics residue
  • THC gummies (37.4 grams)
  • Approximately 28 grams of marijuana packaged in multiple containers

The driver was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and his automobile was impounded.
