A man was apprehended for DWI after a report of an intoxicated motorist in Horizon City, according to the Horizon City Police Department.
On Saturday, June 13, shortly after 1 a.m., officers responded to a report of an inebriated motorist in the 14000 block of Horizon Boulevard.
The driver has been identified as Drake Kuhlman, 31.
When authorities arrived, they reportedly discovered a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller. Officers detected multiple indicators of intoxication in Kuhlman, including slurred speech, shiny eyes, and the stench of an alcoholic beverage.
When asked about his alcohol consumption, Kuhlman responded inconsistently and declined to answer more questions, according to officials.
Officers asked Kuhlman to engage in standardized field sobriety tests, which he declined.
Kuhlman was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
After receiving the mandatory warning, he refused to furnish a breath or blood sample. Officers secured a search order for a blood sample as part of their investigation.
Kuhlman was brought to the El Paso County Detention Facility and held on a $1,000 bond.
