Suspect apprehended in the murder of a woman found in a freezer

The Dallas Police Department has apprehended a suspect in the death of a woman found in a freezer inside an abandoned Oak Cliff home.

Kendrick Brown, 51, is being held in the Dallas County Jail on charges of murder. Police did not explain how they identified Brown as the suspect.

Maria Murray, 27, was discovered on Sunday, May 10 at a residence on Georgia Avenue. The Dallas County Medical Examiner determined her death was a homicide. It’s unclear how she died.

Dallas Fire Rescue responded to a fire at Murray’s residence shortly after his death was discovered. Investigators were investigating whether the fire was linked to the homicide.
