A homicide investigation is underway after a teenager was discovered dead outside a home near the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border on Friday morning, according to authorities.
According to New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella, officers and troopers responded to a complaint of a suspicious death on Orchard Terrace in Salem, New Hampshire, before dawn and discovered the body of a male teenager.
Following an autopsy by the chief medical examiner, it was established that the victim, 15-year-old Wichai Saksene of Massachusetts, died as a consequence of a single gunshot wound to the chest, and the case was deemed homicide.
The specific circumstances behind the teen’s death are still under investigation.
Formella’s office reports that there is currently no known threat to the public.
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy.
