A woman was taken into custody in Webster last week for reportedly hitting her boyfriend with a hammer many times.
Police stated the same woman stabbed the victim a week prior.
According to authorities, cops assigned to the overnight shift arrived to Mechanic Street about 1:22 a.m. after receiving an anonymous report of a woman assaulting her boyfriend with a hammer.
When cops arrived, they heard a disturbance in the apartment and made contact with a man and a woman inside.
Police identified the woman as Rachel Moore-McNeil, 30, who maintained that no fighting occurred.
However, when police spoke with the individual, it was discovered that a fight had occurred, and Moore-McNeil allegedly struck him in the head and back many times with a hammer.
Police discovered many lacerations and other injuries consistent with what he had claimed to officers. Moore-McNeil was also accused of stabbing the victim a week earlier, resulting in severe lacerations.
As officers attempted to handcuff Moore-McNeil, she allegedly began to resist arrest, forcing officers to take her to the ground to safely place her in handcuffs. Following a brief fight, she was arrested, and EMS treated the victim.
Moore-McNeil faces charges of assault and battery on a family or household member, two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, assault to maim, and resisting arrest.
Moore-McNeil was arraigned in Dudley District Court on Friday, June 12.
