A New Hampshire man was sentenced to prison for robbing five banks in Massachusetts.
According to the Boston Justice Department, 47-year-old Reinaldo Ortiz of Manchester, New Hampshire, has been charged with five counts of bank robbery. He was taken into custody and charged with a criminal complaint in January 2023.
According to the charge documents, Ortiz drove from New Hampshire to Massachusetts, robbing banks in Fitchburg, Lowell, Chelmsford, Wilmington, and Lexington. He allegedly entered each bank wearing a mask, demanded cash from the teller’s drawer, and then drove away in a gray 2006 Honda Accord.
Ortiz’s fingerprints were purportedly discovered on a glove dropped outside one of the banks, and his cellphone activity corresponded to the heist path.
Ortiz was sentenced to 57 months in jail, followed by three years of supervised release and six months of home confinement.
