An 18-year-old Ocala man was apprehended Thursday on a felony warrant charging that he utilized social media and electronic communications to entice a minor for illegal sexual activity.
Brian Joseph Dubois was arrested Thursday, June 11, 2026, by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Warrants and Fugitive Apprehension Unit. He faces one charge of using a computer to entice, solicit, or lure a child.
The charge arises from an MCSO investigation that began in March after officers learned of purported conversations between Dubois and a minor female. As part of the inquiry, investigators looked through social media communications and interviewed people. According to detectives, Dubois constantly solicited sexual acts from the victim in exchange for access to a vaping device.
The victim later gave a forensic interview at Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection, where investigators say she described the alleged crimes. Detectives also looked into electronic communications that they believe corroborate the claims. According to the article, investigators first sought a more serious charge but eventually opted for the solicitation charge after analyzing the evidence and conferring with the court.
A warrant for Dubois’ arrest was signed on June 8 and served on June 11. Dubois is now being held at the Marion County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
