A Memphis man was taken into custody in Florida after the Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported that he injured a 72-year-old resort employee.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Collin Ross for felony violence against someone over the age of 65.
On Tuesday, June 9, WCSO deputies responded to a resort’s report that a guest had taken a pool umbrella from the employee-only area.
According to the WCSO, the first incident was not captured on video, but the remainder was.
Witnesses and camera footage showed the two separated, with an older man on the ground. According to the WCSO, Ross repeatedly punched the victim in the face without any resistance or apparent danger.
According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the victim had many injuries, including a dislocated shoulder. Both were sent to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment.
Ross was charged with criminal violence and released on a $5,000 bond on June 10.
