Police say two men were killed in a shooting overnight on Westport Road.
The Kansas City Police Department said it rushed to the vicinity of Mercier and Westport Rd. shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, after receiving reports of a shooting.
Officers stated that they entered an adjacent shop and discovered two guys unresponsive. They began to provide medical assistance until EMS came.
According to first responders, one individual suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The other, Rickey Cal, 24, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Jeron Jackson, 28, was pronounced dead by medical officials shortly after 7:25 a.m., according to KCPD reports. Detectives reported that they had begun to collect evidence and witness accounts. As of Sunday morning, authorities have no idea what caused the shooting, and no one is in jail.
