Six Houston-area suspects, all known gang members, have been apprehended as part of an operation that authorities say disrupted a burglary ring responsible for a string of commercial break-ins spanning several Southeast Texas counties.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit opened the investigation following a burglary at a Shell gas station in The Woodlands. Investigators soon recognized the suspect vehicle and its registered owner, Tyrese Nicholas.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigators then discovered that the same car and suspects were involved in a burglary at a Tractor Supply shop in Conroe on the same night.
As the inquiry developed, authorities determined that the burglary enterprise encompassed Montgomery, Harris, Walker, and Grimes counties. Investigators identified the suspect car in Houston and worked with the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division to link the gang to further burglaries in Navasota, Huntsville, and Willis.
On March 3, 2026, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office West Command deputies pursued suspects thought to be involved in the burglary ring. Investigators eventually discovered that the suspects had just committed a burglary in Grimes County. Angel Ponce was arrested after the pursuit on a charge of fleeing arrest.
On April 9, 2026, Crime Reduction Unit investigators, in collaboration with the Conroe Police Department, executed a traffic check involving two automobiles associated with the burglary team. Authorities identified all individuals and recovered stolen stuff from a Huntsville burglary, including tobacco products and clothing allegedly worn by the perpetrators.
Investigators collaborated with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Houston Police Department, Conroe Police Department, Tomball Police Department, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office to obtain arrest warrants for six defendants accused of engaging in organized criminal activity.
The suspects who were arrested are:
- 31-year-old Angel C. Ponce
- 24-year-old Tyrese J. Nicholas
- 33-year-old Reginald W. Bryant
- 23-year-old Kameron D. Rivera-Davis
- 37-year-old Warrick E. Mason
- 30-year-old Jaylin T. Jefferson
According to officials, all six suspects are from the Houston area and are currently under arrest.
According to authorities, the burglary ring stole around $25,000 in items, including power tools, hand tools, cigarettes, apparel, and other tobacco products.
Several law enforcement agencies assisted with the investigation, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, Conroe Police Department, Houston Police Department, Tomball Police Department, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, Huntsville Police Department, and Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
