Man taken into custody on warrants after crash in Horizon

A 19-year-old man was taken into custody on two outstanding warrants after being involved in a collision in Horizon City last week.

On June 3, about 4 p.m., Horizon City Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 14000 block of Horizon Boulevard.

Throughout the inquiry, officers identified all people involved and checked regular documents. The inquiry discovered that one of the drivers, Pablo Omar Avila, 19, had two active warrants from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The warrants were for avoiding arrest or detention, as well as an accident that caused car damage.

Avila was arrested without incident and transferred to the El Paso County Detention Facility for booking on outstanding warrants.
